Those tests are for total T3 and total T4. Both are considered obsolete and of not much use. Your doctor should be ordering FREE T3 and FREE T4.
That being said, your TT3 is at 40% of range, and upper half (50+) is the guideline for T3. TT4 is 57% of range, which is actually a little high of the T4 guideline of 50%.
TSH is the least important of the tests. TSH is a pituitary hormone and a very indirect measure of thyroid status. FT3 and FT4 are much more direct.
If your symptoms continue once you are no longer premenstrual, I'd ask the doctor to repeat the test, ordering FT3 and FT4 this time.
If you need to be on meds, we can't tell you what your dose should be. Two people with the exact same labs can have a very different reaction to the same meds.
i am concerned about the tsh numbers . the range mentioned for normal by my lab is
t3 - 120 ng/dl ( 80 - 180 )
t4 - 10.8 mg/dl ( 4.6 - 12 . 4 )
tsh - 5.10 mIU/ml ( 0.3 - 5.0 )
i read anything above tsh value 3 requires medications . its has been five months since i stopped the meds . it was not mentioned as free t3 t4 .
Please post the reference ranges for your T3 and T4 tests. Ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report. Also, do they say they are FREE T3 (FT3) and FREE T4 (FT4)?
How long before this blood draw had you stopped taking your meds?
