Endocrinology and Blood Test Results

I have my first endocrinology appointment coming up and I was hoping someone could tell me what to expect?  Also, I had some interesting blood test results come back recently.  My DHEA sulfate serum, TSH, Creatine Enzymatic, Retic, PLT, and Chloride are high.  My Protein, Albumin, Vitamin D, MCHC, HGP, Testosterone, Estrogen, Estradiol,  FSH, and LH are low.  I'm not sure what these mean or if they could be related.  Could anyone shed any light on any of these things?  Will they be looked at/considered/tied into the endocrinology appointment?  Anything else you could tell me would also be great.  Thank you.

Are you being seen for hypothyroidism or for a pituitary issue?

Do you have the actual lab results that you could post for us, so we can see what's going on?  Be sure to post the reference ranges, as well, as those vary lab to lab and have to come from your own report.  Do you mean HGB, instead of HGP?  I don't know what HGP is, so hopefully, it's on the lab report.

If the endo you're seeing, is the one who ordered the tests s/he will, either address all the results or refer you to an appropriate doctor to deal with the one s/he doesn't deal with, even though they are all, basically, related.

DEMAND BEFORE you go see your Endo to make sure that you have BOTH FRee T4 and FREE T3 tests done.  I personally would NOT go to the endo appointment without having that information.

If you have the labs please post them along with the reference ranges.

A high TSh would suggest Hypothyroidism and need to get replacement thyroid meds.

Many say that thyroid hormone should be taen care of first and after that THEN move to try to correct the sex hormone imbalance.

Hormones are all inter-related and changing one can set off a domino effect that can effect others.  So in the best case, solving the thyroid issue may take care of or at least help solve the other hormone imbalances.

Others say there is no problem treating both Thyroid and sex hormones at the same time.  But because they inter-relate, it might be a bit trickier to work it all out.

My wife also is Hypo and low T and pretty low Estrogen as well.  So I think I understand a little bit what you are dealing with.
