Enlarged Thyroid

I increased my dosage of Armour Thyroid to 90 mg per day about a week ago. Now my thyroid is swollen and my heart rate is 90. My normal heart rate is 70-72.  Has this happended to anyone else? I used to take Levoxyl and Cytomol and never had this problems.

The doctor told me I could increase the dosage every 2-3 weeks up to a max of 4 pills to see what dosage worked best for me. I do take all 3 pills in the morning. Will the swelling go away if I split my dosage or decrease it down to 2 pills a day?

No, I am not Hashimoto hypo. I'm strictly hypothyroid.

Yes I did feel that when I was new to increases. In addition to that I also had a mild headache and some jitteryness for about two weeks or maybe just a bit longer. Are you taking it all at once?

That could be causing the high pulse rate. Best to split the meds to even out the dosages.

"You increased your dosage??"  No doctor behind that increase?

It may be just getting used to the direct T3 increase.

When do you test again? Are you just strickly hypothyroid - or are you autoimmune Hashimoto Hypo?
