Hi I have just started taking Armour thyroid for about 2 months now.  I never had a ton of symptoms at all as I was subclinical but then started to notice when I ran I was getting tired much more quickly thatn I hsould have been and my hair loss was crazy.  So I started on just 1 grain (30mg) and hair loss stopped almost immediately.  Didn't really lose weight but now 8 weeks in I am beginning to get bad headaches.  Could this be my body getting used to thyroid or  is it a sign I need to increase to 2 grains?  I heard something about a supression loop?
Thanks
Delaena

Hi SushiBabe, I just started Armour 30mg toos. So far the medication seems to be doing the right things (improving digestion, more energy, etc) so we share the positive response. You've been on it longer than I have, and I am curious about your progress. Did you stay at the 30mg dose? My doc wants to increase the dose to 90mg over time.

My only complaints to date are the headaches, which have subsided somewhat. I also get really sensitive to ordinary stress--a marked increase in this area since starting Armour. I'm going to talk to my doc (an "integrated" medicine MD) about this. Have you had similar reactions?

hi i'm currently on armour 60mg.  not liking it tho. if i cut back to 30 it doesn't work as well.  the 60 makes me bloat and zaps my metabolism, instead of giving me my get up & go back.  i have also started a thread re: the armour, but i'm still learning to navigate this board to find replies..(armour trouble) hope to speak w/you soon.-...satenig2   p.s. what thread are you speaking of laura1967??
