Exercise

When is it safe to work out again after total thyroidectomy? Is it better to wait until your dosage is balanced and in optimum range, or is it safe to work out although one may experience heart palpitations every now and then?

I would refer this type of question to primary or surgeon, each individual is different in recovery phase.  Upon examination, vitals check Etc....  Your physician can advise you, when best to work out.  Wishing you well.

I agree that you should discuss this with your doctor.  I don't know that you would have to wait until your dosage is completely optimal, because that can take a long time - often months/years; however, once you've had surgery, there's a healing process to go through and your doctor can best advise you on that.
