Sorry I should have told my whole story there are alot of new people on here, THANKS for you input it gives me tons of info to go to the Doc with.
I had a TT on August 29 I had a multinodular goiter, I am so miserable I am having tons of stomach trouble it seems and no doc has time for me. Everything was benign, I had a mass on the right side.
I have had some adrenal tests done but they have always focused so much on my thyroid and he says everything will change for the better when my levels get straight. I dont know if I will make it til then, I am totally miserable and I HATE this.
I WANT MY THYROID BACK...UGH.....!!
Dana
Make sure they check all your levels not just your TSH.....I was miserable for 12 months they kept telling me I had a normal TSH after months of complaining I got them to up my med and made them do a full check of TSH T3 and T4...while my TSH was normal my T4 was beyond low and they ended up doubling my meds again. Be careful the family physicians and er docs as and endo is better to deal with. Make sure your not in Toxic thyroid shock...when the levels of med are too high it can make you extremely ill.
Why did he up the meds if you have chest pain? Maybe I am missing something but chest pain is more hyper vs. hypo isn't it? Maybe I'm wrong but that is what came to mind when I read the posting.
All your symptoms sound thyroid .. I agree, have the adrenal looked at too .. you need a full workup and if you need to change Endos or Dr's to do so then that is ok .. many of us have really shopped around until we have settled in with somebody who really listens, that is what the problem is .. the A) don't listen and therefore B) do not understand and/or believe how bad it can be.

would an underactive thyroid really cause a brain imbalance? if so what would the symptoms be?
Please talk to your doctor about antidepressants - many, many of us are on them. Messed up hormones (and thyroid is a hormone) create an imbalance in brain chemistry which can lead to depression.
What is your diagnosis for your thyroid condition?
Hang in there Dana - we are here for you!!!
Have you had your adrenals checked? Symptoms of adrenal fatigue are the same as low thyroid. I went to a naturopath and found out I had adrenal fatigue. I take 5mgs of DHEA at night and I know it has helped me. At this point, my last TSH was 29. I believe if I had not been on the DHEA I would feel a lot worse. Also, I take Bcomplex withC and VitD3 for depression. I have also, through my naturopath, take an over the counter supplement called L-theanine. You can read about it on the internet www.l-theanine.com. It works wonders on the heart palpitations, but I also take ativan (1/2 mg) for anxiety, too. Just some suggestions. They are all inexpensive and over the counter except ativan nees to be Rx by your doctor. Goos luck.
