I have had some eye discomfort. My eyes feel dry and sore and puffy like they would after long periods of crying, and it gives me a headache. I have to close my eyes to "rest" them many times a day. And If I squeeze them shut as hard as I can, it seems to help the most.
I have noticed with walking up the stairs at work that my leg muscles aren't developing. After almost 4 months, it is no easier than it was when I started. It gets harder as the week progresses and then isn't as bad on Monday after I've rested them through the weekend. So I think that it does affect the muscles. I'm not sure that it's breaking them down, but I think it is causing them to tire out more quickly and it takes more rest to get them ready. It could be the same way with the eyes.
I have also recently read on the internet that there are foods that makes the Hashi's worse and I have recently noticed that they do make a difference (Cabbage, Brussel Sprouts, Broccoli, Kale/Kelp, Cauliflower, Soy Beans, Spinach - I may be missing some other foods, and we are supposed to avoid Iodine). I have read that these are at their worst if they are eaten raw. I recently had some Cole Slaw (my absolute favorite) and noticed my fingers and ankles swell up within a couple of hours.
I don't know if this will be helpful.... :-)

I'm just trying to give you a bump here...I have Hashi's but no eye pain (yet!). However, I know it's been a topic on this forum several times. Maybe someone else will respond.
