I'm doing okay, other than taking ambien and not knowing I'm online in the middle of the night! I had our little buddy cremated, and am just waiting for the urn and the ashes, then
we'll all have a small get together and try to find some peace. It's been 1 week today and we're still trying to adjust. Thank you so much for your concern :)

My 'Snoopy' left me when she was 17 and I had to have her put down:(
That was 3 years ago and I cant bring myself to get close to another dog.
Boyfriend has a beautiful dog but I always stipulate that she is 'his'.
I dont think any dog can replace my Maltese x Shitsu :(

How are you doing?
Thinking of you and your thyroid, too. Stress can be a bummer on our thyroids. So try to take it easy. I know it's hard right now. Also, the dogs community is awesome -- if you'd like I can intro you over there .. I know the CL well.

Thank you everyone for all of your kind words. This one really has hit me hard.
I really did love the little guy!
God Bless all of you, and your smallest and furriest family members!
You said it all in your title "Family Dog" They do become part of the family...If you'd have ever told me I'd get so attached to a dog, I'd say you were nuts. Never wanted the dog in the house...got a house dog...quite accidently and he captured my heart. They just worm their way in and hold on tight. I'm sorry for your loss. It does hurt.
I sympathize with you. The hardest days of my life (even though I'm hypo!) were the ones that I had to put dogs down. Dogs do end up in heaven...people, I'm not so sure. Dogs are just the embodiment of "good".
Every dog I've ever had was the "best" dog I'd ever had...so was the next one and the next one. Get a new dog soon...it's a tribute to your last dog. I hate to live without them.
I am so so sorry for your loss. Pls. know we are thinking of you .. my cat was 20 when she left us .. we still think of her all the time.

I feel for you. Last August I had to put my beloved 16 yr old sheltie down. I cried for a week. She had kidney failure. You will always miss them but time does help heal. Don't feel guilty, if your dog was in pain, you did the right thing.
