Thank you for providing the ranges. While your levels are still "in range, both your FT3 and FT4 are pretty dismal and would account for the hypo symptoms. You may have a hard time getting treatment, because some doctors think that "in range" means everything is just fine, but that couldn't be further from the truth. The reference ranges are really skewed, so the bottom half should really be done away with.
Fibromyalgia is, basically, untreated hypothyroidism, so if you get that diagnosis, demand thyroid hormones as your treatment.
As noted before, your symptoms and labs are consistent with hypothyroidism and warrant replacement hormones.
You should also try to get thyroid antibodies to determine if you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which is an autoimmune disease in which the body sees the thyroid as foreign and produces antibodies to destroy it. If you have Hashimoto's, you're more likely to get treatment.
I saw a rheumatologist to check for Fibro or RA but he's making me come back in 3 months for lab results. Been having lots of joint pain especially knees, hip and lower back.
I haven't seen a doctor yet because I wasn't sure if it was a thyroid issue....has the test ran myself to check before I schedule with someone. I don't want to waste my time if they won't do anything for me :(
Correction: free T3 range 2.0-4.4. I am at 2.2
What's the FREE T3 range? Free T3 and Free T4 are really the only tests we look at because the others are obsolete, except for TSH, which is, often, irrelevant and yours is bordering on high.
Your symptoms are consistent with hypothyroidism. What does your doctor say?
Weight gain, fatigue, trouble sleeping, thinning /hair loss dry skin. Puffy face and neck. I had surgery in 2012 in the thyroid area, had 2 cervical discs replaced, trouble since then.
T3 range is 71-180
T4 range is 0.82-1.77
What are the reference ranges for the Free T3 and Free T4? Unfortunately, the other tests, except TSH are obsolete and of little value. Reference ranges vary from lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report.
What symptoms are you having?
