Suspicious nodule please help scared

Hi there,
I just found out that I have a suspicious nodule very small on my left thyroid. I am supposed to meet with my dr. tonight. hey say only 25% are cancerous. Does anyone have any info on this? The questions I have is :

Should I get my thyroid out? What are the positives and negatives?
What is the cure rate for thyroid cancer if I do have it?
What would you do?
Any other stories would be a big help right now

Thank you

I have multinodules on my thyroid on both sides. I've had two fnas within a two year spand and although my biopsies are benign, I have been recommended to have total removal of the thyroid in the event that it is cancerous (20%). I have chosen to go for many opinions before opting for surgery. I am doing my own research which is partially why i am weighing my options. Be sure to do your own research and most importantly chose a doc in which u are comfortable with and do not settle.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I had an FNA biopsy. My nodule is very small, and in fact the doctor said that I really didn't need to have one. The nodule is 7mm thats millimeters. My lymph nodes are not swollen, and my left lobe has a heterogeneous look to it. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos (594 Peroxidase Antibodies normal <35) I have no cancer or thyroid problems in my family.

I would appreciate any other stories or help. Its good to hear

Thanks!

most nodules are benign.. ihad a suspicious 3cm nodule that turned suspicious after 2 years so I had that right side removed and it was  benign.... I belive 90 percent are but you wont no until removed.

Thyroid cancer is one of the mist curable cancer to have! many here have dealt with it am sure will chime in. Did you have a FNA biopsy done on  the nodule? that is the best way to determine. PLease try and not panic... if you decide to have it out the surgery is very easy and really not painful at all, by far the easy every done! little recovery time!
