Forehead pressure?

I feel like a freak at the moment because I can't find anyone else who has this symptom. For 3 years, since I started on thyroid meds, I've had this pressure in my forehead. It's not a headache, there's no pain and it's not from stress. It's just a constant, 24/7 feeling like someone is pushing their hand against my forehead or that I'm furrowing my eyebrows all the time. It's really annoying and I have no clue what's causing it. The only time it went away is when a doctor gave me too much T3 and I went hyper.

Hi there. Have you found anything out yet? I have the same feeling on my forehead. not pain...just like a hand pushing gently on it and it makes my eyes strain and feel that same tightness. I get temporary relief (a minute or two) when I massage my forehead and rub my eyes or my nose. My eyes get red easily... thought it was chronic dry eye but I dont think that is it. Watching tv or being on the computer does seem to make the forehead pressure really aggravated. This is rediculous trying to figure it out. It has taken me almost a year just to be able to describe it myself to even try to get help. Ya can type in 3 words of lyrics and get the name of any song on the planet, but no one in the world has heard of my problem. ugh

Live I've said, the forehead pressure isn't pain. It's just pressure, like if you were wearing a hat that was too tight all day. It's not dental related. I see my dentist twice a year and he's never found anything wrong with my teeth or jaw. I wish mine was related to my bp but since mine has been both normal and too low and the pressure has not changed, it can't be that.

I'm starting to wonder if it's toxins. My liver detox test showed both phases of my liver detox aren't working right, so maybe I have a lot of toxins built up, but that doesn't explain why this only started when I started taking thyroid meds 3 years ago. Why would thyroid meds cause toxin buildup?

Just so you can see my latest labs though (after being on 90mg armour for several weeks)

TSH .007 (.45-4.5) - my TSH has always been 0 the last 3 years but it doesn't mean I'm hyper. My doc doesn't pay attention to TSH because she knows it's not important in my particular case.

FT4 .95 (.82-1.77)
FT3 3.0 (2-4.4)
RT3 214 (90-350)

My doc does not want my FT3 to be much higher than 3.0 because she believes it stresses out adrenals. I believe this because my FT4 and FT3 were both higher, my RT3 was also very high (over 400 at one point), Since I've switched to Armour it came way down. I actually have a little more energy now, I just still have severe brain fog and forehead pressure.

It would be hard to post every thyroid lab over the last 3 years and since this pressure feeling is constant, 24/7 for the last 3 years, I doubt it has anything to do with my current dose. I've actually just switched to Armour a few weeks ago so it has nothing to do with my current labs or dose. It started 3 years ago when I was first put on thyroid meds, so I'm thinking it's a reaction to being on thyroid meds when my hormones were still very very low.

My bp has actually been pretty steady the last few years and recently dropped too low the last several months due to adrenals. I've started taking licorice extract and it's helping my bp, but honestly the pressure in my forehead has been constant whether my bp has been normal or low or my thyroid labs were high or low or my RT3 was high or low. So it makes me wonder if this is really a thyroid related thing or if the thyroid meds have messed something else up.

I also have had pressure in the head or sometimes mine feels like my brain is swelling. I also usually have an incease in blood pressure when this happens too. I do feel it is all thyroid related.

I have this experience too.  Mine is like my whole head is being squeezed with an internal pressure.  I find most of the time, my BP has increased.  Hope this helps.  I hate the vice squeezing feeling!   sass

I wonder if it's dental related? It's good your MRI was normal, but I'm sure that doesn't make you feel any better about not knowing. I have symptoms off and on that aren't necessarily thyroid related, but they don't last 24/7. Is the pain bearable? Have they ruled out migraines?

Please post your current thyroid test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.  What thyroid med and dosage are you taking now?

I'm basing being hyper on symptoms. I had a doctor who started me on 25mcg of T3 right off the bat. I felt great the first several days, but two weeks later I had heart palps, a pulse around 120bpm and major anxiety.

When you say you went hyper are you basing that on symptoms, or TSH level?

I've had two MRI's and they both showed nothing. It's not sinuses or a headache or stress tension. It started when I started thyroid medicine 3 years ago and has been constant every second of every day since then.

Have you had an MRI? It could be a lot of things. Any eye problems? Sinus pain? Headaches?
