Help me figure this out!

Long story short...graves diag. in January...did methimazole, had tt in June and started 0.01 of synthroid. When I had my levels checked in August, my tsh was .10 again, the same as in January when I was so sick. The gp lowered my dose to .075. I KNEW this was wrong. I was already tired all the time gaining weight...all the symptoms with hypo. Well, got tested yesterday....tsh is 50.81. So he is raising me to .088. That cant be right. The same lab is doing all these tests, and I swear the one from August was wrong. I think they sent the wrong numbers back in August because they were exactly the same in January. How can I convince him he needs to raise my synthroid higher than .088. That is never going to be enough to get me feeling better. I am recalling him tomorrow and try to convince him he is wrong, but I dont know if it will work.

My Endo did the same thing. Dropped me from 100mcg to 75mcg.
Why they don't try 88mcg first is beyond me.

I'm on 88mcg now.

From the look of your TSH and in less than two months, I tend to agree that 88mcg is not going to be enough and the 100mcg dose you were on might not be enough. The test might have been wrong.

Your TSH wouldn't rise 50 points in less than two months because your dose was changed from 100mcg to 75mcg. It might go up ten points, but not fifty.

Mine went up four points in six weeks.
Something doesn't sound right about it.

I don't have an answer--and I probably know less than you about Graves'--but I am amazed that you had a thyroidectomy just five months after the diagnosis. I had to hang on by a thread and watch my body and mind fall completely apart for two and a half years before they used the RAI on me.
