You would get better response to your situation by posting a new thread of your own. You can do that by clicking the orange "Post a Question" button at the top of this page, type your question, then click the green "Post a Comment" button. Members will ask you to post your actual thyroid hormone levels, with reference ranges, as well as any other pertinent information.
Hi, did you get get surgery done to remove the goitre ?
I wanted some feedback on Goiter Removal surgery , since the doctors have advised to get the surgery done as soon as possible
We really need to know your actual test results, in order to be able to comment much. Many people fall into "normal" ranges, but still have symptoms. It's all about where your levels fall within the ranges.
If you are in the U.S, your doctor is required, by law, to provide a copy of your labs, upon request. I never leave my doctor's office without a copy and I mark on it, what symptoms I still have, if any, what med(s) I'm on, at what dosage(s). My labs then become a running record of my thyroid condition and I know at which levels/dosages I feel best/worst.
I had one lobe removed, I do not know what my levels are except my blood results for my thyroid(underactive) were normal but the pituitary level was low. No never smoked.
Goiter is simply an enlarged/swollen thyroid. Your thyroid consists of 2 lobes and an isthmus.Did you have a nodule removed or one lobe of your thyroid.
What are your actual thyroid hormone levels (Free T3 and Free T4)? Hypothyroidism can cause hoarseness. An ENT should know that.
Would you by any chance be a smoker?
