Update on appt.

Had my appt. Friday with ENT and as usual have to have more tests run, another CT Scan, and more blood work. Mentioned two possibilities, Submandibular gland being blocked, or lymphoma. Have not been called yet to set up CT Scan, had one done in April, but since it has enlarged will have to go for another one.

My opinion is it is the submandibular gland.

Let us know how your appointment goes.....

I am guessing here that it could very possibly be my submandibular gland. It is very painful eating, but more painful after eating. The pain radiates to behind my ears. Maybe it is infected or something. I am still waiting on the appt. for the CT Scan. Of course as my sisters tell me it would not explain the weight loss, night sweats and body pain.

Oh well, i hope you get answers from this doctor......

This interests me very much as I have my ENT today.  I know I have an enlarged (squishy - but not noticible - can only see it if I press my tongue way back in my throat) submandibular gland and that is what the surgeon gave me antibiotics for - well that and a squishy, not notably, but enlarged parotid gland (front of ear).  I also have some opaque looking stuff showing up on CT in the porus bone behind my right ear and then there is the enlargement of the right thyroid lobe too.  Of course, all of this is on the right side of my body.  I also get right upper eyelid twitches from time to time and have an extra lump in the neck when I swallow that I don't think is my thyroid (my photos show this).  Still praying this guy is nice.  I have to take my 6 year old with me today b/c he has a cardiology appointment to check his VSD and there is not enough time to get him after my appointment.  This may work in my favor since the doc could not possibly be rude in front of my child, right??  Thankfully, today, the swelling is back with the funky feeling in my ear too.  But of course, the swelling usually goes down at some point in the morning.  I guess I'll run around the hospital a couple of times before I go see the doc.

No, not part of the thyroid. But it is right underneath the jaw line.

The new ENT is going to start from scratch with me since I have had a TT and wants to double check that nothing is going on that could be thyroid related. (Tissue growing back) I did have a scan before and it showed thyroid residual, but that is noraml from what i hear.

I will keep you posted, he is also going to check my TSH level again.

Is that near or part of the thyroid.  I am not familiar with a submadibular gland . . . is that in the jaw?
