Looking for Thyroid expert doctor in On (in GTA)

I have diagnosed multinodular goiter since 2004. I have 3 times fine needle biopsy, nothing was wrong, just oversize of thyroid with nodules, never was on medication since my family doctor said my hormone level was OK, I will go 4th time biopsy this week due to size of one nodule at left lobe increased, can anyone share their experience with me on that? What is the chance of having cancer on this particular situation? I never was on diet because of my thyroid problem, any advise on diet to help me on shrinking nodule and thyroid size? Last question is trustable expert on thyroid? Name address, I would like to be ready for oncoming hormonal changes lie menapause, middle age crisis. etc. and want to take advice from good doctor. Thank You.

Did they not suggest RAI 3 months after thyroid removal?
That is the usual scenario.

I had to have repeat FNA...I had it done twice with 4 needles the first time and 6 needles the next - my results came back inconclusive and my endocrinologist gave me the option to either have it monitored every 6 months or to have the entire thyroid removed.I chose to have it removed because if it grew they would have to take it out to biopsy it anyway.I am VERY glad that I decided to have it removed.Mine was cancerous,I did not have to have any follow up treatment because of the size of mine but I do have to regularly have ultrasounds and follow up with my thyroglubulin levels...good luck to you

I live in Ontario.

I'm assuming that since you've had 3 biopsies that you must already be under the care of an Endocrinologist.  I'm wondering why you're asking for the name and address of a good doctor.

About the menopause, a gynecologist should be able to help you with that.

Do you have a family doctor in Toronto?

Without having much information on your actual thyroid issues I would have a few questions to ask.

Are you autoimmune thyroid? -

Has anyone done an iodine loading test to see if you are deficient?

On the report that detected the nodules what "type" are they? - Cystic or solid? ( things like that)
