It helps in combo with my vitamins/minerals. my soap comes already wrapped. the wrapping is just to keep sheets protected from soap residue and possibly from slipping all over the bed. The soap needs to be a fresh bar and changed very 6 to 12 months. My cramps are all over, but mainly in the legs and toes and excruciating, so I am just about willing to try anything, even if it is silly.

I heard about the soap thing, use dial soap, you said a bar of paper wrapped soap? I unwrapped mine and tried it a few days like 3-4 bars but I dont think it was really helping any or how long does it take?
Does the bar of soap help...?
Sounds like your doctor is just using toxic as a phrase of his own lingo.
Although, we can't read your doctors mind and beings you gave such little info. on what type of thyroid condition you have or even your recent thyroid levels with labs reference range, we would just be guessing. However, my guess would be that toxic could simply mean that you have too much thyroid hormones per medication, therefore, med. does needs to be lowered.
Yes, cramping comes with thyroid territory. I have charley horses/cramping. My daily vitamin/mineral routine, I take mega doses of calcium with V-D/A, magnesium, and potassium and put a bar of paper wrapped soap under my bottom sheet, to keep the cramping at bay.
You make sure you are getting enough daily requirements of electrolytes, not enough can cause cramping too.

When my overactive thyroid went hypo/under...I got real bad cramps in legs, feet & hands, it was a nightmare. I had heard somewhere dehydration can cause cramps....so i would go drink lots & it helped.
