What could this be?

Hello. My name is Shaila, and I'm 23 years old. I recently had a total thyroidectomy & partial lymph node removal due to papillary carcinoma (thyroid cancer). Well, I've come to notice (6 weeks later) some sort of lump or mass where the old one used to be before my surgery. Do you have any idea what this could be? Please help! Thank you.

I was thinking scar tissue as well. Get in touch with your surgeon asap.

I would contact the doctor as well.  It could just be a buildup of fluid or scar tissue, but you need to get it checked out.  Hope everything turns out okay.
