HELP

About 6 weeks ago I switched from armour to thyroid usp(generic for armour because i was having problems with the fillers in the name brand. Im on 75 grain and a week after the switch I started having heart palps short of breath, muscle aches really bad cramping in my feet. I started feeling hyper the last few days went and did labs but only a t4 (total) and it was a 6.5 normal  ranges for that lab are 4-12 so the test actually says Im normal but I feel like **** also neck swelling, tired and neck very itchy. If anyone can explain this it would be greatly appreciated.

I am not impressed with the generic compound meds at all. I don't know one person that does well on it.

In generic formula's you can find so many different fillers and additives at any given time - it's too hard to track when you feel bad - what is causing it. The "range" of actual hormones varies considerably too in generic formulas, not with just compound meds - but mosty all forms of medication whether specifically thyroid meds or any other kinds of treatment.

POO - POO the generics -

If you want off of Armour- you may want to suggest looking at Naturethroid. I have found this med is "pure" and the least amount of additives and best consistancy around.

It has been great  for me - but I will say it took about a month to really adjust correctly after I switched over. I also required a bump UP with the dosage. There conversion charts are not quite correct when looking at NT over the other thyroid medications.

You might of as well threw your money right out the window on that lab you did too. It's impossible to know what a T3/T4 med is really doing when they don't run the Free T3 and Free T4 tests.

Total testing is only measuring the stored hormones - not the FREE that is required to feel good. It's anybody's guess ( even your doctor) on where you are exactly when it comes to proper dosing and wellness.
