HELP!!!!

I am frustrated and really need to vent and get advice.  I have been posting off and on about my ongoing struggles with numbers and symptoms.  The saga continues.  Below are my recent test results and under that the results leading up to this.  I cannot get my FT4 and TSH under control.  I know people say the TSH is not important but it is the only number that is really out of whack.  I feel terrible.  I have been having some really bad heart palpatations.  EXTREME fatigue.  Endo keeps lowering meds but my numbers aren't improving that much and TSH is really not improving.  Also last endo visit ultrasound was not very "conclusive" either.  Doc says "maybe" active thyroid tissue, "maybe" cyst, "maybe" a parathyroid..........MAYBE????  Is this causing the problem or is it just meds.  It seems like I am waiting a LONG time to feel better.  I feel like not taking my med at all.

Today's results:
TSH-.0130 (.450-4.50), FT4 1.84 (range .82-1.77) triiodothyronine serum free 2.9 (range 2.0-4.4) Serum Calcium 9.5 (high 10.2) PTH was supposed to be done but I didn't see it on report.  Current med .150 mcg levoxyl.

Previous:
Dec. 2008-TSH 66.00 no ranges were given to me and no other tests.  My meds INCREASED by .025

Oct. 2009-TSH 1.22 (again no ranges) T3 89 (no ranges), T4 2.1 (no ranges).  Told I am finally normal!

Dec. 2009-TSH .19 ( again no ranges given to me) no other tests done.  My meds LOWERED by .025

Jan. 2010 TSH .126 (range .450-4.50).  My meds lowered by .025 again. My  Calcium Serum 10.3 (high in range is 10.2)

March -TSH .0050 (range .450-4.500), T4 Free 2.44 (range .82-1.77), ionized calcium 5.7 (range 4.5-5.6) meds LOWERED again by .025.
May- TSH .018 (range .450-4.50) T4 1.88 (range .82-1.77) calcium serum could not be performed due to contaminated sample (what does that mean??)  meds lowered again by .025.

By reading the thread you can see my past labs.  Just got my July TSH.....9.15!!!!  So since May I have gone from .018 to 9.15.  My triglcerides were back up again, my glucose was up (I am not a diabetic but take metformin)........I won't have the T4 or T3 back until later.  What is going on?????  I know it is supposed to be all med related right? BUT my meds are have been lowered by.025 each time.  Funny thing is, I am still having heart palps and headaches.  I am supposed to have a biopsy on my thyroid this Thursday but they told me if they did not see the nodule, they would not biopsy.  I have had 4 ultrasounds and have gotten different reports each time.  I wonder if I will ever find the right dose of meds.  I take my pill the same time each day on an empty stomache and do not eat for ususally an 1-1 1/2 hours. Any ideas??

Your FT3, the most active thyroid hormone is really not high. Your TSH is low and your FT4 is high. Again, TSH is  a pituitary hormone and not always reliable. The MOST reliable indicator is how you feel. Heart palps are never good and a good endo will look into this rather than dismiss it.

Some things to consider:
1. Lowering the meds again.

2. Test the adrenal glands with the 24 hour saliva test and treat as needed. Adrenal fatigue and hypothyroidism almost always go hand-in-hand, yet why do most endos neglect to test this? Or, they just give you the unreliable blood cortisol test.

3. Switch endos! You need one who will make you feel whole again, not one who ignores heart palps. Mary Shomon's website which lists thyroid docs recommended by patients: http://www.thyroid-info.com/topdrs/

Take care...
