Should be concern about high rdw-sd and low mpv in blood work?
Just had blood work done the rdw-sd was high and mpv was low. Is this a problem I should be concerned about. I am constantly tire, achy joints, chills, night sweats & one side of scalp is cold.
Inflammatory diseases can cause low MPV and high RDW.
My mpv is 7.6 the normal range is 7.8- 11.0. My rdw-sd is 17.8 the normal range is 12.3- 15.4). Thyroid tested last April 2013 & functioning properly. I am 43 years old female & doctor ran a thyroid test on 4/3/2014 no results yet. He sort of dismissed me when I suggest it might be perimenopause because he advised it is normal that my period is now 23 days apart when it was 27/28 days. My gyno. doctor is not concern advise its normal period & would not order hormone test. She advise that get thyroids & diabetes testing.
