Hair loss with Synthroid

Hi,
My Dr. has switched me from a T/3 T/4 combo of Levo and Cytomel to just Synthroid.  I have been on it for just under 6 months and prior to that was off all meds for right around six weeks.  I have been losing the hair at my temples for the past two months and new hair growth is brittle and poorly rooted.  I have been doing A LOT of reading on Synthroid and it's possible link to hair loss.  Can anyone share further information with me regarding this?  Has anyone experienced a decrease in hair loss on a T/3 T/4?  I did not experience this before I switched over.

Thanks!

Since you were switched from T4/T3 combo to Synthroid, what were your free T3 and free T4 test results?  Those tests, along with symptoms, really tell you more about the thyroid status than a TSH test.

I am not presently hypo.  Last numbers were 2.13.  And for me, that range is good - any lower and I get hyper symptoms.  I re-posted my question with that information included.  Thanks for any help or ideas you can give me!

Along with Synthroid, you should also consider whether you are still hypo or not, since this can also contribute to hair loss.  If you have lab test results, please post the actual numbers and reference ranges, so that members  can respond.
