Hashimotos + hair breakage + weight gain

I was diagnosed last fall with Hashimoto's after physically coming to a complete stop. I couldn't get out of bed, gained 30lbs in 2 years (hadn't changed my diet), depression, brain fog, fatigued, skin prematurely aging, change in hair (had gorgeous hair).

My doctor started me with lowest dose of Synthroid. Now am at 100mcg one year later and symptoms are mostly okay except still hard to lose weight (even though am working out and dieting), brain fog/loss of train of thought...but the worst thing is the hair breakage. It seems to have gotten worse with Synthroid. I have lost 8-10 inches of hair. :(

My antibodies are 930
T4 - 187
Iron - I think she said in the 90's but because I have Hashimotos, my doctor said it should be higher

I feel good at my current Synthroid dosage. I read that T3 supplementation can counteract the hair breakage and it can help lessen the symptoms (brain fog, weight gain, hair breakage)?

I have been also taking Omega 3-6-9, Evening Primrose Oil, B100, calcium, potassium and multivitamins. I saw my doctor today and asked her to put me on T3. She suggested going to see a Dermatologist but I said for hair loss I would but I am dealing with hair breakage. She is going to inquire with the hospital pharmacist and get back to me. Am I on the right path? I can't lose anymore hair. It looks like someone took a blow torch to the back of my hair, it's all broken off :(

Help!!

If you feel good, there might be something else going on to cause the hair breakage.  You need to get tested for Free T3 levels, before even thinking of going on a T3 medication. If your Free T3 level wasn't high enough, you wouldn't feel well at all.

Beyond that, we need more information.  Which antibodies are 930?  Is that T4, Free or Total?  Makes a huge difference and we also need the reference range.

Iron in the 90's?  We need exact numbers with reference ranges.  If you don't have a copy of your labs, your doctor is obligated to provide a copy for your records.
