Before trying to answer, please tell us what your Armour Thyroid dosage is daily. Also, do you split the dose and take half in the morning and half in the early afternoon?
My dosage is 90mg daily. I take one pill in the morning only.
Did you take a dosage of Armour prior to the blood lab being drawn? If so about how long prior to the blood being drawn did you take your medicine?
reason I ask is that Armour has a lot of T3 in it. And the T3 peaks approximately 2-4 hours after taking it. So if you had taken your medicne, and then say 3 hours later had the blood taken. It would show an abnormally high Free T3 level. And your test shows it to be over the top of the range. So I would not be surprised if you had taken your meds before hand.
Also because the T3 is ramps up quickly (peaks about 4 hours after taking it) and then s tarts to wear off. This is the reason for "splitting" your dosage of Armour. By taking about half in the morning and the other half in the early afternoon. The morning dose will be wearing off as your afternoon dose starts ramping up. This helps keep the blood levels of FT3 more even and helps you not "crash" by the end of the day because all the T3 is used up soon after you get home in the evening. So you are falling asleep about the same time as you get to see your family after the workday or whatever. So you give everyone else the best of you, and you have nothing left for your own family.
You are spot on! I did take the Armour that morning about 8am and had my blood drawn at 11am!
