Here is the diagnosis from the fna, wondered wht 898 thought

Atypical benign thyroid nodule consistent with hashimoto's thyroiditis. Diagnosis:hashimoto's. The sample was satisfactory. Obgyn said it was good and that the endo would probably just see me every 6 months with an ultrasound every year.

follicular =  small anatomical cavity or deep narrow-mouthed depression

cell or cells = a small usually microscopic mass of protoplasm bounded externally by a semipermeable membrane, usually including one or more nuclei and various nonliving products, capable alone or interacting with other cells of performing all the fundamental functions of life, and forming the smallest structural unit of living matter capable of functioning independently

The radiologist I talkes to at the hospital said that it says atypical benign consisitent with hashimotos because inflammation causes atypical cells in the nodule that are not cancerous? What are follicular cells?

The term atypical is used to describe follicular cells; but if nodule is benign, just wait until the next ultrasound.
