i checked tsh on yesterday (24 days old baby) and free T4 , TSH shows above 100 and Free T4 Serum by CMIA is 0.31, Then consulted a docter , he prescribed a medicine CLTROXIN 50 mg ,01 tab per day for 3 months, and advice me to check tsh after one month and show the result. Let me know the baby is now only 25 days , is he need a medicine to get well. what will happen if it is up normal? is it automatically get normal or not with out any medicine?

You've attached your comment to a very old thread.

Babies tend to run higher TSH than adults and TSH does fluctuate greatly.

I'd do as the doctor says and check it again.  You should also be checking Free T3 and Free T4, as well as TSH.

Thank you for replying back so soon.  It is not me it is my niece who lives with me, She went to the hospital today with kidney stone.  They checked her blood and had to give her two transfusions, Then I guess with her being Hypo they checked that as well, The doctor came in and said her TSH was extremely high and she was LUCKY to be alive they could not figure out why she still was.  They immediately sent her upstairs to a room with a heart monitor on.  I am just wondering bout ALL of this and SCARED out of my mind.  I have the paper in front of me because doctor gave me a copy it says 435.5 microInter.Units/ml

Your TSH is high by any standard. Why did you have the test? Is there a missing decimal point in there? (like 4.35?)
If it really is 435, you need thyroid medication now.
Do you have symptoms? Are you in the hospital for another reason? Other illnesses can cause high TSH, but usually up to 20 ish.
