Hoarseness and Menopause

I have finally had to join med groups online. I am desperate for this condition I have of hoarsess is causing me so much stress and depression. I am pretty certain I am entering pre menopause for my estrogen level is at 1700. I need more test for sure for I may need my ovaries etc taken out and I will be getting an ultra sound done soon but could these conditions cause hoarsness like i am having. I am a professional singer and I can barely push out a sound. It isn't raspy like nodes...they are simply swollen. Predisone helps a little to atleast get through the shows. but I am beside myself. If someone else could just make me feel comfort that if I get a hysterectomy ( sorry if the spelling is incorrect )  will correct this issue. I have been hoarse for 6 months now. And antibiotics do not help, balancing my hormones with Progestren doens't help, taking all the homeopathic and vitimans..this all helps my menopause but not my hoarseness.
Im just about ready to go crazy. I can't take off time from work for I am a single mom and need the money.
Ive taken pills to keep stress down and other pills to help me not get so upset about this...
Ive done the resting of the voice for days, Ive steamed to keep them moist..
its just not working help

This is the thyroid forum, and while I'm not an expert on perimenopause, I would certainly say a couple of things.........

First off, all the hormones in our body must work together and if some are off, it could throw everything else off, as well.

Secondly, I've never heard of perimenopause causing hoarseness, but hypothyroidism most certainly can.  Have you had any thyroid testing done?  You would need to have, at the very least, TSH, Free T3 and Free T4 tested, and depending on those results, you might want to go further.  I'd also recommend a thyroid ultrasound to see if you have nodules that could be causing the hoarseness.

Do you have any other symptoms consistent with low (or high) thyroid?
