Holistic cure for Hyperthyroidism?

My latest blood test results were:  T4 free 10.4, TSH 2000.  I also have  Alkaline Phosphatase at 142.  My Doctor wants me to have RAI, but I am worried about other complications, and I'm hoping I can get cured through another holistic method.  Does anyone have any knowledge in holistic cures or can anyone point me in the right direction?  This just started to happen January of this year, and my first reactions after a month of Methimazole and Propranalol was Hypothyroid.  It rose to T4 Free 6 a month later after stopping meds, and is now at T4 free 10.4.
What concerned questions should I ask my Endo?  He wants me to put together a list of questions I have about worries about RAI.  I'm 38 years old and this has only started this year 08. I am hesitant to go back on meds because of hairloss, weightgain, dry skin, and a general feeling of chemical imbalance.

Thanks everyone, this is my first time posting here and I'm so new to all this, but am trying to do my best.

My only major symptom is extreme Muscle Myopathy in my legs that is spreading to my upper arms and abdominal and back area.  I have no heart palpitations or tremors, but am heat sensitive.  Bowel movements are normal.

Thanks so much and God bless everyone going through this, I hope it gets better for you as well.

I agree with AR-10 (hello AR!).  Unfortunately, there is no holistic approach to any of this.

I recently worked with a woman who told me she had let her thyroid issues go for two years, choosing a holistic route over more standard methods.  It didn't work out and all I can tell you is she concluded the description of her journey back and through to where she is today by saying she was 'lucky to be alive.'

...And this is someone I would describe as the most hippie, herbal, earth-mother person you could imagine; living in the most hippie, herbal, earth-mother area you could imagine.

Please put your health and best interest first.  Take care.

Your levels still don't make much sense, but to answer your question, there is no holistic cure for Grave's Disease, if that is what you have.

If you have hyperthyroidism but do not have Grave's antibodies, that is a different story. There are many reasons you could turn hyperthyroid for a short period, and then return to normal.

The first question I would ask is "Did anyone run antibody tests? What antibody tests were run, and what is my TSI result?"

If you do not test positive for TSI antibodies (and I am talking about blood tests, NOT saliva tests), then you do not have Grave's and RAI may be jumping the gun.

T4     10.4  H
TSH  greater than 0.01 L
T3     less than 2000 H
