So yes as I said in the other post,Lyrica was Prescribed for fibro, after a 2 day stay in the hospital.I went in for cronic pain and a 2 month charlie hourse in my left calf.
There they gave me lamictal ( might have spelled wrong) it took the leg cramp right away
I did fill the script but was scared to use it after knowing what it was, stupid huh.I was back in the er a week or so later,it was the worst hart burn in my life,I know heart burn I've had 4 kids,I know Heart burn, anyways my left check was killing me at the same time and when i went to walk out and had remembered that I had that script on me so i took one and the chic pain went away, might I say that pain felt like someone hit me with a bat.So dunks you may be right all that I have gone through kinda makes ALOT more since now.I was thinking this sanario just a few days ago when I sort - of asked the eye doc if he would chk my levels. SO you may be right again about the Lyrica,I also was thinking its time to get off it,dont know that I need it,but I'll find out.I do have to carefully taper off it ! I should have figured, take it with a grain of salt,I've been treating life
like so,why should the Meds. be any different. Thanks soo much xx
mommies4 - I saw in your other post that you were on Lyrica, but didn't know what it was. I just looked it up and I see that it is to treat "neuropathic pain" and is used in the treatment of fibromyalgia.
In your other post, you describe all sorts of symptoms, and ask if hypothyroidism could cause them. Have you actually been diagnosed with fibromyalgia? Some of the symptoms you mentioned do sound like fibromyalgia, but all of them are also possibly caused by hypothyroidism (as I explained in my response to you - I had the same symptoms and they have gone away now that I am on levothyroxine.) So, I am wondering if perhaps you have been on Lyrica to treat symptoms which are actually caused by your hypothyroidism. I don't know about Lyrica causing hypothyroidism, and quite frankly, you should take with a grain of salt a lot of message board posts with comments of that nature. But in any case, it may be that if you treat the hypothyroidism, the symptoms which are now being treated with Lyrica will go away. Unless you have other disorders which necessitate the treatment with Lyrica, if you start being treated for your hypothyroidism, you might consider going off the Lyrica so that you can better assess the thyroid medication's effect on your symptoms.
Hi there :) they can tell if you have Hashimoto with a blood test to see if you have antibodies that are destroying your thyroid, also by a scan on your thyroid they can tell by looking..The Lyrica i dont know of, someone will though.. you sound really chirpy..good on you xxx
