Is this Armour medication?
Hi Stella
That's the thing I can't seem to find out. It seems like when I look on the web that it is another form of Armour thyroid. It's hard to figure out for sure, though
Thanks
Can you double check with your doctor and see if this is Armour thyroid?
OR - Print out the information from the Armour site and take it to the pharmacist. Have them compare the 2 meds and see if this is just another form.
When I frist got into reading about Armour I kinda remember this name Nature thyroid coming up. I am pretty sure is is a T4/T3 combo medication. It was never an option for me - so I didn't get into it much at all.
I think your pharmacist will know for sure.
Hi Stella
As it turns out it is pretty much the same as armour. It has 9 mcg of T3 in it. I get it stright from the doctor but I looked online and finally found the info
Thanks!
You get the medication "straight from the doctor"?
What kind of doctor dispenses PERSCRIPTION drugs from his/her office? Does this doctor have a medical degree?
Maybe I misunderstood your statement...
AR- Maybe the Nature Thryoid was a sample??
http://www.nature-throid.com/conversionChart.asp
1 grain Nature Throid equals 25 mcg Cytomel. There is a chart in the link.
And yes, Nature Throid has 9 mcg t3 and 38 mcg t4.
Hi
Thanks for the info. Yes, I get the prescription at my doctor's office. He carries nature-throid there because he specializes in thyroid/endocrine/autoimmune problems, so he uses it a lot.
Maybe he has a deal with a compounding pharmacy? The supplement is called nature-throid, but it is the same as nature thyroid. I did confirm with the doc that it is 9 mcg of t3
Thanks!
