How to take levoxyl

What is the best way to take levoxyl 175mcg tablets?  Is it okay to take it in the am with all your other meds?

That's:  "I second what pep88 said..."

I can also add:  You'll want take this med with a full glass of water.  I take a small sip first, take the med, then chase it down with the rest of the water.  That taking a small sip first was a tip I picked up from a nurse for when someone is taking a really soft med like the ones we're on.  That prevents it from sticking to the back of the tongue.

Again, good luck.

I second what pep88, except I'd do anything but give into eating or drinking within that hour of taking the med (I, myself, wait two hours).  The reason is you want to be on the very least amount of this med as possible - to protect your bones, your heart, etc.

Take the doggie for two walks; take two showers.  What the heck, then give the doggie a shower while you're waiting...read him the paper while he's in there.  Do anything!

Good luck.

Nope.  It *should* be taken on an empty stomach and you should wait at least an hour before you injest anything (if taking in the am).  And do not take your vitamins until at least 4 hours after. Especially any calcium type suppliments.

If you are one of those people who just can't possibly stay away from the coffee or other things first off, find something to do in it's place.  Take a shower, read the paper, take the dog for a walk...  But if all else fails and you just can't stay away from say coffee... then do the exact same thing every day. Your body will adjust.  Your doc may need to up your dosage, but as long as you're consistant, you'll be ok.
