Out dated Synthroid in emergency

I have been upped from 88mcg to 112mcg of Synthroid over time.  Now back to 100mcg  from 112!
Having no access to a pharmacy  is it OK to take a few year old out-dated 100 mcg Synthroid until I can get to a pharmacy? The back to 100mcg is due to a high resting pulse of 100. Thanks much for any help!

Just for myself, when I was first diagnosed, my tests were all over the place and I had 6 different strengths of levo in my cupboard.  If in May or June or July I was represcribed a strength I already had I would take what I had in supply.  It took a year and a half to use up all the levo, but am finally on a dose that is consistent and working well....I did tell my med doctor that I was taking the old medicine and she never cautioned me against it.

Wishing you the very best

While I don't believe that medication automatically "goes bad" just because it's outdated and I have taken outdated med, I'd never recommend it to anyone.  Depending on how far out of date the med is, the potency could be different now, from what it was originally.

I'd suggest that you make it a top priority to get to a pharmacy to get your new pills.

Do you have current blood test results that you could post here, for us?  Be sure to include reference ranges, as those vary lab to lab and have to come from your own report.
