Hyperthyroidism

Hello! I have a question, the day before my uptake scan the nurse gave me a pill, my question is those pill that she gave me is not bad even I talked my husband and my kids? I know the nurse told me that I can't hold my baby in one hour longer within 3 days...but I talked my kids right after we get out at the hospital now I am started to worry pls help me to explain ...thank you so much:)

Do you know if you took I 123?  If so, typically, there's not a danger to others, but you should not breastfeed, because iodine gets into the breast milk and is passed on to the baby.  

"No special radiation precautions are necessary after a thyroid scan or RAIU."

When you have an uptake scan, pictures are taken of your thyroid, which tell the doctors what's going on; that's why you don't need an ultra sound, when you have an uptake scan.
