Has your doctor indicated that he wanted to lower your dose of Euthrox?
With your FT4 at two times the upper limit of the range, I would think he'd want that to come down pretty quickly. However, your FT3 is in no danger of getting above the range soon. Just my opinion, of course, but now I'm beginning to think the FT4 is the main issue.
First, I'd ask my doctor about lowering the Euthrox to get the FT4 back into range. Second, I'd see how you feel and what your bloodwork looks like after six weeks of the lower dose. Then, if your FT3 has fallen, you might consider adding some T3 meds to the mix (depending on your symptoms, of course). If you feel good after lowering the Euthrox, you just might be one of those people who feel better in the lower end of the FT3 range. I know I start to feel a bit hyper the minute my FT3 gets off the very bottom of the range.
Just some thoughts, but I would ask my doctor what he thinks should be done about the FT4.
I don´t have those numbers now (the former bloodwork), I could get them. When I first started Euthyrox I was tired and had difficulty getting pregnant, bloodwork turned out to be hypo. I don´t remember the heart palps and headaches as I am getting them now.
Tks
Well, your FT4 is seriously over the limit. However, your FT3 is still at the low end of the range. Unfortunately, both fatigue and heart palps can be associated with both hypo and hyper.
Do you think it might be worth repeating the test to check that FT4 number? My initial guess is that you are having a "conversion" problem. If that FT4 number is correct (i.e. the lab didn't mess up or something), you have plenty of T4 for conversion to T3, but it doesn't seem to be happening. In which case, you might benefit from cutting back on your Euthrox a bit and adding a T3 med to the mix.
Thinking back to when you first started taking the Euthrox, do you remember the fatigue, headaches and heart palps being symptoms then? I'm just trying to figure out if this looks like you are hypo again due to your low FT3, or hyper due to your high FT4. My guess, once again, is that your FT3 is the real culprit.
Do you have the results of any bloodwork you had done when you felt GOOD to compare current FT3 and FT4 with?
yes.
