Hypo Treatment--getting worse?

The background:
My OB said I had hypothyroid (via testing) and could take Armour 30mg. I take it Monday-Friday in the morning, then take Saturday and Sunday off. I've been doing this weekly for almost 3 months. I get my blood tested for the first time since being on this next week. My "Hypo" symptoms before getting on Armour were being "cold to the bone"/freezing than normal, dry hair/skin, constipated, slight depression (didn't know until after I had taken Armour for awhile that I that "gloom"), irritable.

Now:
Had gotten that energy back and BM's were more normal (sorry TMI) for the first time in forever. But I have also noticed my cycles have completely changed (lighter/shorter--4 days instead of 7, more cramps), PMS is way worse, AND I feel like my anxiety is getting worse for no reason (I've always kinda dealt with it though) and my acne is horrendous--worse than puberty years and I'm 30! I have an appt next week to discuss this, but wanted to see if anyone had their thyroid issues improve, only to get worse again, etc...maybe in different ways...or not. I just feel like this is all in my head, but I know it isn't....so hopefully I can get some relatable stories?! :D

Thanks in Advance!

True...it is hard to tell without an actual doctor's opinion. That's why I can't wait until my appt. next week. Can't come soon enough. ;) I will definitely post the results once I get them.

I'll take your advice and look up PCOS. My acne is to the point of some of it acting like its cystic acne (leaves a scar) and getting more and more of it. yuck. :( And i never got them before starting the Armour. Hopefully its something that can be easily fixed! :0

Thanks for your reply!!

Hi,

your symptoms could be thryoid or they could be unrelated.

Your doctor will need to test your blood levels.  TSH, FT3 and FT4.  When you have these results, please post them and give the ranges so we can comment.

Some of your symptoms could be hormonal related, particularly the skin problems.  Please ask your doctor about that - and maybe look up Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and see if any of the symptoms / signs fit.

let us know how you go with your doctor.
