that's what I'm going to do and the surgeon was ok with that as well. :0)
That is great news.....
Schedule your suregery when YOU feel ready for it.
Hi, just wanted to let you all know I got the results from my FNA and there's no cancer. So thank God on that, still will be getting the rest of the thyroid removed somtime mid March. I just am not ready to do it any sooner. Thank you guys for being there for me! AnnaG
You said it, "well with others". You will want to snap heads off...but I always bit my tongue because I kept telling myself they are not at fault for my emotions going up & down.
I will try to be patient. That has never been one of my virtues :0) but this will probably teach me to be patient with myself and probably with others as well. :0) thank you.
Just remember patience & more patience. It did take me a year to get my dosage correct, but you will get there. I did not become obese, in fact, I am under weight now. It did not alter my life any or my character, but I guess I was busy with work & raising a child I did not have time to think about anything health related.
Just remember patience...
Thank you....wow 16 yrs..that is very encouraging!
Had a TT done about 16yrs ago. For me, my life did not change. I was still a wife, mother, went back to work full time after the surgery. I do take medication daily for it, but that is about it..(I do get bloodwork done yearly).
You will be fine...
Thank you for the words of encouragement, it does help a lot! To answer your questions redheadaussie: The nodule is almost 3 cm now, it was 1.8 cm 3 months ago. It has a lot of blood in it and some solid masses in it as well. My doctor did get samples with the FNA of both to test for cancer. He is an awesome person and has a very gentle touch. It wasn't painful or too uncomfortable at all, thank God. Thank you and stella5349 for being there, I appreciate it very much. Will post once I get biopsy report back. Anna
Oh honey - absolutely you are not being childish.
Everything will be fine and getting a second surgery could certainly bring on some anxiety.
We are right here.. Post anything you want.
Hey there. It's not childish at all to worry about your health. I had left side out, then 6 months later the right side. I got the news it was a type of cancer, and I was terrified. Still am! That was 3 years ago, last month.
You won't gain a bazillion pounds, that is an old wive's tale! Provided the medication is adequate you should be fine. In the old days, they used to let people wear out their natural thyroid supply of hormone and that would make people hypo and gain weight. Thank goodness they don't make us do that any more!
How big is the nodule? How fast has it grown?
Cheers!
