Dear mam,...
First of all very very thanks for the earlier reply...and I 'am very much satisfied with your answers........
Actually i have no symptoms expect hair loss...I had been to doctor two months back just to confirm what will be the reason for hair fall.
He suggested for blood test and told me due to thyroid problem its happening. This is how i came to know about thyroid nothing more than this....
I took many suggestions from 2 to 4 doctors as they said like there is no problem if the FT3 and FT4 are normal. So no need of medicine.....
Mam how do you feel in my case???
I want to know one thing :--According to you is only TSH is the major thing in determining Hyperthyroidism? OR FT3 and FT4 also concerns more???
And also suggest me shall i continue with the medicine(tablets) "CARBIMOZAL 20mg" for few more days?? OR shall i reduce the dosage??
yes the reference ranges are measured the same as the total test. It's just not on yours.
Please keep in mind - these thyroid disorders are "symptomatic" diseases and labs should be tweeked to make your feel optimal.
No ONE lab for one is the same for the other. It's all about individual levels and where you feel best at.
Hint:::: Tracking your labs with your symptoms is very essential to lock in where you are at your best.
You fall within the normal patterns of FT3 and FT4 - but the real question is how do you feel at those levels?
Thank you very much for the reply ....
Can please clarify my doubt that my FT3 and FT4 levels are Noraml or not?
TRIjodthyronin,freies(FT3) 3.5pg/ml reference range(2.0-4.4)
Thyroxine,freies(FT4) 1.3ng/dl reference range(0.9-1.7)
why FT4 is measured in terms of dl/ng?
there is no measuring parameters used for reference range.....
side effects could be weight gain - headache and nausea

I think your doctor in India is who you should stick with
Hyperthyroid could be temporary - or something if not - can be done to cotnrol it.
Listen to that doctor in India and consulty with him often. Have him order lab testing for you and have him read them each time.
Thank you very much for the information...........
Now there is no confusion for me...Its HYPERthyroidism.....I think in Germany they just write it as TSH basal its nothing but TSH(Thyroid Stimulatin Harmone)..,,
Can you tell me how long i need to continue the medicine for this?
Is there any side effects from the tablets??
Indian Doctor suggested me to take "COLLOSAL IODINE" its a liquid form of medicine and also he told to continue the same tablets(CARBIMAZOL 10mg HEXAL).
should I control in my food habits??what are foods good for this??
But there is not much symptoms for expect hairloss..
I will be waiting for your reply..
thank you very much......
I
This treatment with the medication you were placed on and based on your lab with the TSH reading, this doctor is treating your for hyPERthyroidism.
not hypothyroid.
Still in America - the term TSH basal is not used and I think it is strickly just a :thyroid stimulating hormone" test. American testing for this is just called a TSH.
many Americans find that this TSH is not the best best to detemine thyroid issues also.
..Actually m from India and currently staying in Germany....Even i dn't know german and doctor don't know English Terms..this is the reason m totally confused.....so i called a Indian doctor and he said it is hypothyroidism.....now totally confused....ok you mean to say that i have hyperthyroid
once again i will give correct details of my blood report
TSH BASAL 0.04ml
TRIjodthyronin,freies(FT3) 3.5ml
Thyroxine,freies(FT4) 1.3dl
this is the report given by German doctor today....
And the medicine he prescribed is CARBIMAZOL 10mg HEXAL
I have symptoms like very much hairfall,a bit weight gain.........
If you were on birth control for a period of time and went off - to get pregnant - that could be the issue on why your labs are low.
The TSH is not a solid lab for thyroid disease and if you did something to change your patterns like get off meds or diet change or weight - then the TSH can look odd.
Do you have hypERthyroid symptoms?
OK - you are thyroid confused.
You are not hypOthyroid - your doctor is treating you for hypERthyroid.
It seems you are not totally understanding this whole thyroid situation and looking at surgery with giving such a short timeline to trying to correct this is risky.
What's a TSH basal? I know of nothing to define that.
