Too Much Levo

Hi,
I am new here. I have been reading this board for a while and there is a lot of interesting / helpful information. I was diagnosed with hypothyroid about a month ago, although, I suspect I have had this condition for a while. My most recent labs were taken on August 25th and they are:
TSH - 3.05  range .27-4.2
Free T4  14.4  range 12-22
Free T3  4.6    range 3.1-6.8
rT3   .23   range .09-.35
Rt3 ratio is 20

I am also on Hydrocortisone for Adrenal Fatigue ( stage 5 ) and have been for 6 months. I seem to fluctuate between 25mg per day and 17.5mg per day depending on when my monthly cycle hits, etc.. I have low progesterone, but have not started to treat that yet because it was interfering with the adrenal treatment. One would basically block the other..they go for the same receptors apparently.

Anyway, I was started on 25mc of Levo a few weeks ago and was also given some Armour to try 1/4. I was stupid and messed around with both and worked my way to too fast! Now I feel pretty odd. I am Hyper, but not massively - not fast pulse or heart beat. I have decided to stop taking any thyoid meds for a few days / week to see if they will come out of my system so that I can start over and do this properly. The hardest thing was when I started the meds they almost made me feel more hypo...how long does one have to endure that?

Is it safe to stop and re-start again? I will not go so hypo that I am at risk or anything?

Thanks!
Jen

I would restart the meds at the dose you where told to take. Schedule another lab appt to see where your levels are and have your doc determine whether to adjust your meds. If you are feeling hypo, you might need your dosage upped. GL!
