No one is telling me anything!

Ive had a goiter since I was a teenager. Im now 33 yrs old. 2 yrs ago, I started to feel like I was choking/pressure/raspy voice. Ultrasound revealed 3 nodules on left lobe. I just had my follow up yesterday and the results (that I didnt even get from my doctor- I went and got a copy when she didnt call me) tell me nothing!
Findings: Right lobe measures 4.9 x 1.9 x 1.4 and left lobe measures 4.5 x 1.4 x 1.5 cm.
3 tiny nodules are noted in the left. Sclerosis right, largest dimension of nodules being 0.6 cm
All of these appear benign in nature.
WHAT!?! Besides his poor grammer, He didnt specify if the nodules are cold, hot, solid, hypoechoic, complex, clustered....and 6mm is not "tiny" to me.
His conclusion: (get this!) Small nodules in the left lobe of thyroid.
YA, THATS IT.
Can anyone help me understand "sclerosis of right"....the whole right lobe??
Thanks so much!

me neither - that term is something I can't relate to. But in the report the gland sounds like you have some inflammation to me there and that too can be causing some pressure with your complaints listed.

What autoimmune thyroid labs have you had done with blood?

6 mm is too small to biopsy, they can't tell if it is hot/cold on an ultrasound, they need to do a nuclear scan.  Until it gets to 1 cm, you can only watch it and when it gets big enough, they can biopsy it.  Tiny nodules probably are not the cause of your hoarseness, although they can be in rare cases.  There is a nerve running through the thyroid that controls vocal function, it may be affected by nodules, but yours are small.  You might have an ENT check your vocal chords, and also check you for GERD.  As for the sclerosis, I have never heard that term, probably has to do with the texture.
