Well, I'm hypo and feel in a fog and spaced-out quite often. I'm sick and tired of it! People sometimes look at me like I'm some kind of dope, but I'm actually pretty intelligent--it's just that I'm dealing with this hypothyroid ****. I get headaches, anxiety attacks, and muscle pain and aches come out of nowhere--even my facial expression is off. One weird thing I deal with is that I sometimes have a problem looking at people because I'm just so tired that my ability to actually focus on a conversation is very limited.
Although things are getting better since being prescribed Armour. I'm on Armour by my request as Synthroid's side effects include stroke--Wonderful! My father died of a stroke. My current doctor pushed Synthroid but I insisted that it be Armour. So he reluctantly prescribed Armour. I agree that key to being properly treated is finding a doctor who will actually listen rather than going by the book regardless of you say. Luckily, I found one of those doctors.
Make sure the doctor adjusts your Armour by free t4 and free t3. If its adjusted by TSH, you will be undermedicated.
As far as constipation, it could be that you need more Armour. However, many of us have to be on the correct dose and make some changes in diet. What has helped me is taking 3 teaspoons of raw apple cider vinegar in a small glass of ice tea at dinner time. I also either add walnuts to my cereal each morning or eat a handful of them as a snack.
Before you see your doc tomorrow, why don't you check your temperature numerous times and see how it compares to the optimal of 98.6. If you want to read about this, here's a site.
