Incidence of Thyroid Cancer in Balto City

Recently two people I know have been diaganosed with thyroid cancer and we all grew up in the same area.  I just had a scan that showed a cold nodule.  Presently waiting to find a doctor to order the FNA.  Trying to find others that lived in the same area to see if there is a coorelation to it.  Maybe something around us caused this.  I am grasping at straws right now.

I, too am wondering about the Numbers ofpeople in the Tennessee Valley Area with thyroid Problems-seems to be a lot!
I, too am wondering if it is an issue with something we have been exposed to!
Are you by any chance, the child of a Vietnam Vet?

Some will accuse me of coming up with a Conspiracy Theory-but it is worth Investigating, in my opinion!

Here in Australia many blame the nuclear bomb testing back  in the late 1950's early 1960's on many issues...I had a thyroid cancer too. But honestly, the human body is a complex piece of machinery which has more glitches in it than most people realise. Cells at birth can lay dormant for many many years, and then 'pop' up when you least expect it.
  That is not to dismiss what you are asking. There have been known of clusters of child leukemias, adult cancers etc with certain area for many years. I think we live in a world of our grandparent's mistakes....and no doubt we will, too, pass on similar mistakes to our grandchildren. People thought arsenic in make up was perfectly ok way back when. Only in time do we discover the problems and then it is often too late.
Good luck in your research, but I doubt you will ever be able to put the 'blame' on anyone....governments are too clever for that!
