Is it my Thyroid or somethig else - Help

I forgot to add that I feel yucky all the time; no energy, with a headache, racing heart, blurry vision, etc,

Could this be caused from too much synthoid or is it something else? (I take magnesium supplements with my calcium).

I also have pain/aches all over my body, particularly my hip, shoulder and arms that just wasn't there before and i had lost 45 pounds and have put 10 back on and still eating the same and exercising the same or more - help?

Here's my latest testing results (I'm also on Vit D prescription; last test in May 09 had me at a level of 37)

TSH 0.05 - range 0.34 - 5.60 UIU/ML
T4, Free 1.17 - range 0.58 - 1.64 NG/DL
T3, Free 2.82 - range 2.30 - 3.90 pg/ml

Good info from Tamra.  In prep for your appt. I just thought you might get some benefit from this article, which covers this subject area pretty well.

Take three magnesium with food.

You need an ultrasound. Every Hashi does. I bet it reveals nodules. Don't be alarmed. Nodules are typical for Hashis. When the antibodies attack the thyroid, we get these bursts, creating nodules, which can have live thyroid hormone in them. When the nodules leak, we Hashi hypos suddenly go hyper.

Docs will usually not want to remove the nodules unless they are over 2.0 cm. With enough Synthroid, nodules will shrink. They would rather biopsy nodules, which is less painful than the dentist.

great feedback - thanks!  I'm actually seeing a new endo next week and you've given me a lot to chat with him about.  It's funny i saw my endo today and she said everything was perfect and my symptoms were due to my age.

I do have hashi and have never had the ultrasound, but will ask for one

so low frees are hypo and high frees are hyper?  didn't know that either

How much magnesium a day?  I currently take 250 2x day (and i do wait 4 hours after the synthoid)

Sounds like you are flip flopping between hyper and hypo. I don't see your original post. Somewhere else? Keep it in the same thread next time.

Your TSH is low, hyper. Your frees are low, too, hypo. Strange mix-up, but the frees are more important as they are a direct thyroid hormone.

How much Synthroid do you take? Based on your frees, I'd say you are not on too much.

Has a thyroid ultrasound revealed nodules? Those could be leaking, causing you to go hyper. Get an ultrasound if not. Do you have Hashimoto's? Probably, considering your symptoms. TGab and TPOab tests confirm that.

Get that D higher. 37 is low. Don't know what it is now, but winter time we're worse. Get it over sixty. Hard in the winter, even on supplements. Nothing works better for me than direct sunshine.

Take Magnesium three times a day. Take all vitamins at least four hours after taking your Synthroid.

Also, I take Cytomel with my Synthroid. The leg cramps are gone now that I am on Cytomel. Your FT4 and FT3 levels are still lower end of range. If you were seeing my endo, who specializes in thyroid, he would raise Synthroid then add Cytomel.

Get a massage. You might have toxins that need to be released.
