Is it related to hypoT?

I have been taking synthroid for the last two years or so.  Had my 3 baby in Aug and for the last month i have had pains in my lower right and left abdomen which i also feel in my legs.  It is a dull achy pain.  I also have the pain in both my arms and now occasionally in my jaw.  My doc just ordered bloodwork because he thinks its something to do with my muscles.  I also had an ultra sound done waiting for the results but just wondering if any of this could be related to my hypothyroidism?  Headaches are another symptom i am sure is brought on by the stress of all this.  Any thoughts??

Next time I visit my family practioner I will ask for the results.  I had never really looked into it until now, being that I am having more issues with hyperthyroidism.  Thank you for your response and I will look into the temps we site.

When it comes to hypothyroidism, "everything is fine ", is not good enough.  Suggest that you get the actual results from doctor's office and post them here.  They are required to provide results upon your request.   If tests for free T3 and free T4 were not run, you will likely need those tested also.

In the interim you can do some checking for yourself by checking your normal temperature several times a day for several days and comparing the average to the optimal of 98.6.  Average temperatures sig. below 98.6 are frequently an indication of low metabolism/low thyroid which need to be confirmed by the blood tests I mentioned.  If you want to read about temperature testing, here is a good site.

So my test result came back and everything is fine....don't know what to think, do i just leave things alone and carry on and hope that the pain goes away, or do i look into getting a second opinion.  My doc said my thyroid levels are fine and to continue taking the same dosage of synthroid??

After I had my son last November, I had TERRIBLE abdominal pain. After months of pain and BEANO not working, the DR tested my TSH. It was 202! Once I started the synthroid, the pain slowly started to go away.

I would suggest a full work up to find out what the cause is. My endo classified it as hashi's complicated by post-partum thyroiditis.

Good luck and hope you feel better!

It's been 4 mths since you baby arrived so your hormones are still coming down from the stress of birth.

Yes you could be hypoT - but need blood tests to confirm that. You may want to keep a journal daily on how you feel. Things can change rapidly until you body settles from the birth.
