Is itching normal?

I'm back!
I am feeling a bit better, I think I getting used to the beta blockers.  I still don't feel great, but better than before.  I have a new symptom, itching.  Is this normal?  It's annoying!
I go back to the doc on Thursday for an ultrasound, I'm not leaving that office till I get an answer and some kind of treatment!

I know years ago when I was undiagnosed thyroid but suspected it, I had horrendous itching. I thought it was from drinking my evening glass of port wine, so gave it up. No change after a month. Tried using different soaps/detergents/shampoos etc....still happened. I now know that it was the start of my Hashimoto and journey into thyroid disease. I have learned since then I am super sensitive to anything and eczema is part of it too. Provided I use everything natural/organic/sans chemicals then I am ok.

Have you had thyroid antibodies checked?

Me too.  I use the medical gold bond and it is awesome!! It is a symptom of mine!! Dry skin and itching!!  Yuk.  My skin looks like snake skin unless I  use my lotion.  Like FTB4 said, the wet skin is the best way to apply.               -sass-

I don't know if it is normal , but it is a symptom that I have on and off, I don't know if it is caused by the Dry Skin symptom of Hypothyroid or not, but is a good possibility. I tried several different lotions, the one that I found works best for me is Lubriderm, all lotions work best if applied on the wet skin after a shower, without drying with a towel, and allow to air dry, this captures the moisture from the shower. Another that seems effective if it becomes bothersome at night, is to take 1/2 of a Benadryl Allergy pill, they are only 25mg
and half is a small dose, but does help stop the itch.   Good Luck FTB4
