Thyroid Problem?

At first I thought had contracted HIV but I continually tested negative. Then someone suggested I see an endocrynologist (sp?). My pulse is through the roof and I have heart palpitations every so often. My neck (maybe the rest of my body too) is very hot on and off yet my temp isn't over 99.5 ever. I have frequent diarrhea yet other than that I feel fine. Oh and lately I've been having a metallic/bitter taste in my mouth yet have been taking no medication.

Has anyone had a similar situation? Thanks in advance

Hello,
I had some of those feelings as well. I eneded up seen a a rheumotologist and I was recently diagnosed with Lupus. Make sure you go to your PCP and get different types of testing done. Keep us posted.

I came off of the birth control pill after 13 years in January, and almost immediately after I began having heart palpitations at odd times that would range up to 135 or so.... even when I was sitting or walking or doing nothing at all.
I also have been sufferning from a constant body temperature of 99.0-99.5 since then. I have had my thyroid checked and no one can figure out my problem besides the guess of my hormones being 'out of whack'.
I don't know what any of it means, but it is terribly frustrating being warm/hot so often and having the palpitations come out of nowhere.
Sorry I don't have answers for you, but just letting you know I have the same problems. Let me know if you found anything out?

Your heart palps, diarrhea, and body temperature could be symptoms of hyperthyroidism. I had the same symptoms. I had diarrhea, lost weight without trying, felt like I was in a brain fog, heart palps, and I have a slightly higher body temperature sometimes. I didn't know what to think, but I was really freaked out! I ended up being diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (Graves disease) after blood tests. I also had a nuclear thyroid scan with uptake which was really high which indicated overactivity of the thyroid and a swollen thyroid. You need to have your thyroid checked. I am now on meds and feel a whole lots better! Once you are on meds you will eventually start to feel so much better. So definitely get your thyroid checked.
