You could always contact Xymogen and see if they will give you the name of doctors in your area who use their products. You can then compare this list to the other two. Might be one way to find a doc.
Yes, please keep us updated. I look forward to hearing the results of your doc search. :)
Thank you so much. I can't buy the xymogen meds directly so I will definitely go and find a doctor that will care about healing. Btw, I found drinkjujube, it is a juice with jujube stuff which is in the serenX and a bunch of other juices combined - and I can buy it direct, so I am going to give it a try for now. Will let you know. Thank you so much, really, it is nice to hear positive news.
Awwwww, thankies! :D
Well, actually I've been up to my eyebrows in all this lyme stuff for the past few months. Herbie's taken kind of a back seat while I've been doing research on why else I've been feeling so cruddy. Still, I'm thrilled with the results so far and will continue on this protocol to see if I can shrink Herbie even more.
WHOA ... so that is where you've been !!! We've missed you!!!! CONGRATS .. I love success stories and thanks so much for sharing!
Cheryl
You're welcome :)
Sorry your doc seems so close minded. There's a reason many patients refer to them as rear-endos.
Here are the links:
http://www.armourthyroid.com - click on the find a doctor link
http://www.thyroid-info.com/topdrs/index.htm
Now bear in mind that not all the docs on these lists are good. The armour doc site is simply a list of docs who will prescribe armour. No patient recommendatsions.
The top docs list is a list of patient recommendations and some are better than others. Still, it's a good way to get started. If one doesn't work out for your, try another one.
It really is a long difficult journey to find a decent doc. It's soooo worth it in the end tho.
Hope you find a good doc soon! Please keep us posted. :)
Nyxie, thank you so much. You are so right. I asked my doctor about suppliments and showed him the Xymogen catalog today and he pretty much said Synthoid is all I need. I know that it is not all I need as I am barely coping with life and is taking it very much few hours at a time if that. I got my ultrasound results today and felt very concerned with what is written but he seems so casual about it...
Sorry for probably a very dump question, but where are the Armour thyroid and top thyroid docs websites that you mentioned?
I am so confused about the medical system here... moved here from Australia 3 years ago but never had to deal with the medical system until now, and is totally lost... Thanks so much for your help, Nyxie.
Thankies! :-D
I'll just do a happy sit for now. ;)
You're welcome. :)
Endos are notorious for not wanting to recognize subclinical thyroid conditions (or subclinical endocrine disorders in general). Most are only interested in test results that smack them in the face.
You might want to see if you can find a good DO or holistic MD in your area. They tend to be more on the ball. You could always start with the Armour thyroid website. While not every doc on there is good, it's a start at least. You can also check out the top thyroid docs website. It has listings of peer-reviewed docs by state.
Good luck on your dr hunt. It's sometimes a difficult journey, but so worth it when you can finally find someone who listens.
YEAH!!! HaPpYdAnCe!! Way to shrink that Herbie down to size!!
Thank you so much for sharing. I am so happy for you that you are getting better.
I think I should be looking for a good doctor. The problem is I just don't know where to start. It is frustrating when I know that something is wrong but everyone said it is fine...
I will do some research on Xymogen and their products...
Caveat:
Just because my nodules are shrinking doesn't dismiss the possibility of cancer. I'm still probably going to have to have yet another biopsy done in a couple of weeks.
I also don't suggest doing anything that I've done unless you've thoroughly researched these methods and decided, after a lot of soul searching, that this is the best approach for you. I've also done these under doctor's (not the ENT) supervision. What is working for me may not necessarily work for you.
What I've been doing:
In June of last year, I started an iodine protocol. This was after studying iodine for 4 months and finally finding a doctor who'd agree to supervise my treatment and progress. I began at 8 drops of Lugol's solution daily. Lugol's is a water-based iodine/iodide solution. After the u/s in October and iffy biopsy in November of '07 (suspicious for follicular neoplasm), I upped the Lugol's to 16 drops daily with my dr's permission.
In addition, I also started taking several other supplements 2 months ago which were highly recommended by my lyme doc. One is called DIMension3 from Xymogen. I'm also taking OncoPLEX from Xymogen. They're both made from cruciferous veggies (among other things) and are supposed to help the body fight cancer. To be honest, I didn't really buy into it at first and had some concerns regarding the whole cruciferous/thyroid thing. Still, I thought I'd give it a go. Glad I did.
I'm not really sure which is working - the iodine or the supplements. It might be a combination of the two. Either way, I'll take it.
Thanks! :)
Congratulations, that's amazing. May I please ask what alternative supplements have you been taken?
Congrats on your great results!!!
Fantastic! Keep us updated on the Docs thoughts.
What are the alternative supplements you have been taking?
