Just need some reassurance & direction before appt.

Several months ago I posted that my doctor was switching me from Armour Thyroid 60 mg to Synthroid 100 mcg.  I was nervous about the switch,  but had never felt extremely well on the Armour.  I went through with the switch and have been on it about 2 months.  Mentally I feel better than I have in years.  My brain fog has dissipated and I can think, speak and write much faster.  I have gained a little weight and my fatigue is about the same or maybe slightly better?  In the last week though I have developed really noticeable muscle pain in my upper arms and shoulders.  It feels like I am coming down with the flu.  So I am scheduled for a med f/u on Friday.  I am of course attempting to  diagnose myself prior to seeing the doctor.  I find it necessary to have some information before I go so that I can ask the proper questions and advocate for myself.  So I am thinking... dosage not quite high enough, need to add some T3, Vit D is low? I just want to be prepared with questions.  Any guidance would be appreciated.  Can't understand why brain fog would be better and then this symptom show up?

Thank you in advance.

Typically, labs are drawn before the appointment so that you have the results to discuss with your doctor.  I always get mine about a week before I see my endo so that I can get my questions together.  It's very hard to suggest a meds strategy without some guidance.

If this muscle pain hasn't been a thyroid symptom before for you, why do you think it is this time?

How low was your D, and how much have you been supplementing?  It would be a good idea to test that as well before your appointment so you can evaluate supplementation.  Vitamin D should be in the 50-70 range for proper metabolism of thyroid hormones.

I am sure he will draw blood while I am there.  As far as sx. my biggest sx. have always been the fatigue and brain fog, in addition to hair loss and thinning eyebrows.  Hair loss seems to be minimal, eyebrows seem to be getting thicker, sleeping well.  I am tired at the end of the day, but not spent like I was.  As I said, it has been 2 mos on the Synthroid and I was really thinking things were looking up until the muscle pain in upper body started.  I have increased my Vitamin D as it was slightly low last time checked.  I couldn't put my hands on my lab when writing this.

Are you having lab work before your appointment, or do you already have results?  Have any of your other hypo symptoms come back?
