Hi;
I noticed your post as followed...
C. A lab mentioned "C-reactive - protein" should be done with all autoimmune patients. If you measure over a 1. you need futher testing on your homone tests to see where this is messing up This over range test can suck the immune system and effect our components of burning weight when stricken with autoimmune diseases. The adrenals and thyroid are left to run weak. It increases fat cell production and weight gain can be an issue.
I was wondering where you had read or heard this information? I get my C-reactive checked every 6 weeks. I have some type of inflammatory arthritis, so mine is and has been always over 1.
What further testing of what hormones need tested?
Very interested in this!
Thanks for the info.... Take care; Sonflower
Yes - meno is the topic - BUT it sounds as all hormone imbalances are being touched on.
ABC has stopped covering the plane crash, but now the local station took over and is still covering it. They say they are going to continue right up to news time @ 5:00, so no chance for me to see any of Oprah, except for about 2 minutes before the local station took over - sounded like Oprah's show was dealing with menopausal issues.
I'm furious - this is the first time in years I've sat down to watch anything at 4:00 in the afternoon and then it isn't even on!!
Thank goodness everyone is safe. What a shame.
Oprah is not on here. They are covering the plane crash in NY. It looks like everyone on board is safe!
Special report about airplane crash is on here too. No indication of how long it will last, but it's ABC so probably nation wide.
bizwiz...Tequila just gives me a bad headache the next day. LOL
Stella....I was interested with the CRP labs. I did not know this was related. Mine have been anywhere from 6-20 over the last 6 years. My test was the hsCRP or cardiac CRP in which uses a scale of 1-3. One low risk, 2 med and 3 or above high risk. I was told it was a marker for inflammation....hmmm...I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the information.
Concerning the show.....hopefully it will be shown here. Right now there's a special report on the US air airplane crash in the Hudson River. The info message for Opra I believe is menopause.
Tequila is my favorite source for the agave plant. LOL! My friend goes to Europe and South America all the time and she's been trying to get the agave plant in a pill form for me. I've researched the agave plant a while back (tequila gives me tons of energy and it's ok as long as I don't have to drive) and it definitely has many energy giving qualities. I'm sticking to tequila for now. Hopefully see you guys tonight.
Tune on on your TV's at the regular time Oprah comes on.
My time of 7pm is when I hope to get this rolling.
To answer your question on what's being done to clue the old doctor in????
WE ARE LEFT WITH THAT and Dr. Oz really touched base on that with the webcast I viewed.
It's a movement and we ALL need to get on the same page as patients.
Today's Show is Hormonal Issues .....with thryoid thread afterwards.
C~
I believe it is the Oprah Show on the TV and then there will be a Live Q&A thread here on thyroid tonight.
C~
Sounds great. So where is this broadcast? Is it online or on Oprah?
I'll do my best to watch the show.
I think the sweetener you are referring to is AGAVE nectar. It comes from the agave, which is a type of cactus. This is natural, liquid, but does have calories, so need to watch consumption. Another one to try is called STEVIA - which comes from the leaves of the sweetleaf plant - natural, 0 calories; can be purchased in bulk or in packets and be used in place of sugar for cooking, baking, etc. I use both agave and stevia, but prefer the stevia because I can carry the packets with me - one packet is equal to 2 tsp sugar. Some packagers also add inulinHope this helps.
If new doctors are being trained to be more receptive to our problems, is there anything being done to clue in the ones we already have or do we just have to "shop around" until we find one that will listen?
