Labs of a Central Hypothyroid Patient

Here are my labs since July of 2008.  I just got the copies today to go over them.  I should have asked for a copy of my whole chart so I could see how/when my meds were adjusted.  Just thought I'd post them here as others may find them interesting or have comments.  On many of the labs there were lots of other tests ordered, but I don't really know what they are.....things like lipid profile, CMP, glucose, calcium, CBC, prolactin, cholesterol, vit d levels, IGF-I........anything else I should be looking at in particular?  Next appointment I'm planning on asking for the ACTH Stimulation Test.  Anything else I should consider asking about?

Yes.  My appointment was set about nine weeks from this last one.....sometime in April.

Ok, that's what I was getting at...just wanted to make sure you hadn't stopped for days and days or something like that.

As I said above, your FT4 is so low that I'm sure you can deal with the increase to 100 mcg.  Previous labs were also on 88 mcg, and FT4 wasn't a whole lot better then.  It was still nowhere near 50%.

Do you retest in 4-6 weeks?

I don't think I was inconsistent enough for it to make a HUGE difference.

No FT3 this time, I thought that was weird too.  Yes, he had me do a super dose of VitD for 6 weeks, currently on week 4, then I will do over the counter VitD supplement.

What I meant by slacking, was I was missing a dose here and there (just forgetting to take it, sometimes I'd remember at the end of the day and take it before bed....I know, that's not good).  I didn't tell my doctor at the last appointment that I had "slacked" and therefore, he raised my dose from 88mcg to 100mcg due to the labs and my feeling much more tired lately (literally by 3-4pm I was ready for bed for the night).  I really should have told him I was slacking and just started taking my 88mcg correctly every morning again, but since he was willing to up the dose, I took it....because  always feel like I'm at the bare minimum of normal anyways....I'd like to see how I feel with this larger dose.  I have labs and another appointment scheduled for April.

Your doctor is having you supplement D, correct?  Your level is dismal since many thyroid patients find it has to be close to top of range.

What does "slacking on Synthroid doses" mean?  If you weren't taking it consistently, how inconsistent were you?

Your FT4 is way too low.  Midrange (50%) is the target for FT4 and you are currently at 10%.

No FT3 this time?
