Levoxyl in two doses
Has any heard that you can split your levoxyl doses? My psychiatrist said you can take it in two doses. I know you can take armour and cytomel in two doses, but I e never heard this about t4 meds.
Amen. I told my husband the same thing. I'm in toledo and I must say I have yet to find anyone here who knows anything about the thyroid gland. This is crazy.

Levoxyl is a T4 only med and there is no advantage to taking it in 2 doses/day, because either way, it has the same 1/2 life and will take the same amount of time (several weeks) to get into/out of your system.
T3 is the only thyroid med, in which there is an advantage to multi dosing, because it's fast acting and doesn't last long in the system.
Your psychiatrist might need to go back to thyroid school, or stick to psychiatry and send you to a good thyroid doctor.
