Will look forward to seeing the additional blood test results, with reference ranges, so I can possibly help you further.
only 25mg levothyroxine. I have been to the hospital clinic they are doing more blood tests for my thyroid levels etc. I am waiting for the results which will be in one week from today. I will ask all the detailed information you have asked for when i go for the results.
Thank you polly.
Has the doctor done any blood work, at all? Other members of our community from UK, report that it's very difficult to get adequate thyroid testing/treatment, due to the NHS guidelines. We've had some members who have had to pay privately, in order to get adequate testing/treatment.
If your doctor has done any blood work, please post the lab results, so we can better assess your situation. Be sure to include reference ranges, since those vary lab to lab and have to come from your own report. Some of your symptoms are those of hypo, not hyper and I suspect that you do need some thyroxine, just not as much as you were on.
For instance, fibromyalgia is a set of symptoms that has no explanation; in other words doctors can find no cause for them, yet the symptoms are often relieved with adequate doses of thyroid hormones.
What was your dosage of thyroxine?
Do you have anymore advice for me thank you.

I went to the G.P. to ask about the thyroxin levels and to discuss my hairline hair loss.
I was gob smacked when the doctor said that I should never of been put on thyroxin at all my levels where only slightly down and there was no need to put me on any thyroxin.
She said my hair wil grow back. I can not believe that any doctor can just put people on drugs without taking into account a persons medical history properley. I am very upset that i have been overdosing on thyroxin for 2 months terrible symtoms like angina pain etc hair loss bald patches even not just thinnning of hair actually bald patches in my hairline. The other thing is a couple of weeks a go my vision was distorted and i had pins and needles down my left side arm and leg....i was taken into hospital and they investigated me for a bleed on the brain. it was not a bleed but they told me it was a T.I.A now they tell me they think it was optical migraine which is better than a mini stroke i know but my point is could the thyroxin of caused the vision loss etc. I am so annoyed that i have been put through all this pain and discomfort. I thank you barb 135 for your acurate advice you where correct it was to high a dosage for me and thank you for your advice much appreciated polly xx The doctor also said the hair loss may be something else but I find that to be to much of a coincidence.
Yes I live in Liverpool U.K. I visit my G.P. on Tuesday and will discuss it
with her. I will have another test done as soon as possible.
Thank you for your reply I really appreciate it.

While the thyroxine may have caused you to have hyperthyroidism, it didn't cause Graves Disease. Graves is an autoimmune disease, in which the thyroid produces too much thyroid hormones, not caused by a medication.
If you had hyper symptoms, it was most likely caused by too high a dose of the thyroxine.
We need to know what your actual thyroid hormone blood test results are. You should be getting tested for Free T3, Free T4 and TSH on a regular basis. We can't tell you what dose to take, but even your doctor is only guessing, if s/he's not doing adequate testing.
Please post your thyroid test results, and be sure to include reference ranges, which vary lab to lab and have to come from your own report.
Are you, by any chance in UK?
